APS GmbH - European Centre for Mechatronics is a non-profit research institute located in Aachen, Germany. For more than 30 years, we are conducting basic and applied research as well as developing engineering solutions for the industry. To cope with future demands, interdisciplinary cooperation in research and development is getting more and more important. Therefore, APS founded the European Centre for Mechatronics in 1994. The goal was to push research in the area of mechatronics as a key technology for progressive technical developments for the future.
Its key business includes research and development, industrial-driven engineering projects, training and education, as well as transfer of advanced technologies, system components, services, and customer-oriented solutions in the field of production automation for various industrial application areas. Core technologies are mechatronics, robotics, ICT, embedded systems, industrial communication and human-machine interaction. In these areas, more than 35 European projects had been successfully accomplished in cooperation with international industry and research partners.
APS is certificated for conducting an international research project on managing the development of micro, small and medium enterprises in cooperation with the Lodz University of Technology.
